बद्र' की लड़ाई :-
हिजरत के बाद ही कुरैश ने मदीना पर हमले की तैयारी शुरू कर दी थी। इसके लिए ख़र्च का इन्तिज़ाम ज़रूरी था। इसका यह उपाय सोचा गया कि तिजारत के लिए एक क़ाफ़िला 'शाम' भेजा जाये। इसमें मक्का के सब लोग पूंजी लगायें और जो कुछ फ़ायदा हो लड़ाई में लगाया जाये।
यह क़ाफ़िला जब शाम से वापस लौट रहा था तो यह झूठी अफ़वाह मक्का फैल गई कि मुसलमान क़ाफ़िले को लूटने आ रहे हैं। इस पर कुरैश बहुत घबराये, बड़ा गुस्सा आया, बड़ी भारी फ़ौज लेकर निकले, लगभग एक हज़ार की तादाद थी। जो खुद न जा सका, उसने अपने बदले का आदमी भेजा। सात सौ पैदल और सवार, ज़िरह से लैस, लोहे में डूबे हुए, सौ घोड़े और सात सौ ऊंट। ऐसा जान पड़ता था कि ज़लज़ला आ गया है। वे आंधी और तूफ़ान की तरह बढ़ते चले जा रहे थे, बांदियां और गाने वालियां भी साथ थीं। गाने क्या थे, काफ़िरों की तारीफ़, घमंड और अपने बड़े होने की बातें, अल्लाह के दीन और मुसलमानों की बुराई।
अभी रास्ते ही में थे कि हाल मिला, "क़ाफ़िला बच कर निकल गया, हमला नहीं हुआ, वापस चलो।" लेकिन अबू जहल पक्का दुष्ट था, वह कब मानता। सिर में सौदा समाया था। मौत सिर पर नाच रही थी। बोला, “अब हम न लौटेंगे । बद्र के मैदान में डेरे डाल मज़े उड़ायेंगे, गाना-बजाना होगा, खान-पान रहेगा, तमाम अरब पर हमारी धाक बैठ जाएगी। मुसलमानों की क्या हिम्मत जो हम पर हमला करें। हम तो उनके सिर पर पहुँच गये हैं।" फिर भी कुछ लोग वापस चले गये, अबू जहल पर बहुत गुस्सा हुए, आगे न बढ़े।
आप ﷺ ने मुसलमानों को इकट्ठा किया। आप ﷺ हर काम सलाह से करते थे। वैसे तो आख़िरी फ़ैसला अल्लाह और उसके रसूल ﷺ ही का है। लोग इकट्ठा हुए, आपने मुहाजिरीन की तरफ़ देखा। उनमें से एक ने कहा, “अल्लाह का हुक्म पूरा करने में देर न कीजिए। हम आपके साथ हैं। हम हज़रत मूसा (अलैहिस्सलाम) की उम्मत की तरह जवाब न देंगे। उस ख़ुदा की कसम! जिसने आपको नबी बनाकर भेजा। अगर आप दुनिया के दूसरे किनारे तक लड़ाई करते चले जायेंगे तब भी हम आपका साथ नहीं छोड़ेंगे।"
अब आपने अन्सार की ओर मुंह किया। उन्होंने मदीना के अन्दर ही मदद का अहद किया था। यह मामला बस्ती के बाहर का था। साद बिन मुआज़ अन्सारी उठे। उन्होंने कहा, 'ऐ अल्लाह के रसूल ! आप पर दुरूद और सलाम, शायद आपका इशारा हमारी तरफ़ है। हम उन सच्चाइयों पर ईमान रखते हैं जो आप लाए हैं। आपको सच्चा जनते हैं। यही नहीं, बल्कि इस दीन की सच्चाई पर गवाह भी हैं। आपके हुक्म के मुताबिक़ चलना हमारा मज़हबी फ़र्ज़ है। आपका जो इरादा हो, कर गुज़रिये। हम आपके साथ हैं, आप हमें समुद्र में कूदने का भी हुक्म देंगे तो हमें एतिराज़ न होगा, हमारा एक आदमी भी पीछे न रहेगा। हम दुश्मन का सामना करने से नहीं घबराते। हम जमकर लड़ने वाले हैं, हमारा वार झूठा नहीं होता। शायद अल्लाह हमारी तरफ़ से वह काम आपको दिखला दे जिससे आपकी आंखों को ठंडक पहुँचे। अल्लाह की बरकत आपके क़दमों में है। कूच करने का इरादा कीजिये।
आप ﷺ यह सुनकर बहुत खुश हुए। फिर कहा, “अच्छा चलो, अल्लाह ने मुझसे अहद किया है। काफ़िरों की तबाही का मंज़र अपनी आंखों से देख रहा हूँ। 'बद्र' के मैदान में आख़िरी किनारे पर कुरैश की फ़ौज आकर ठहरी। उसने पानी पर क़ब्ज़ा जमा लिया। मुसलमान जिस हिस्से में थे, वहाँ यह हाल था कि रेत में पावं धंसते थे। चलना मुश्किल था। अल्लाह की मेहरबानी से पानी बरस गया। अब क्या था, पानी ही पानी हो गया। लोगों ने हौज़ बना लिए। वुजू के लिए या पीने के लिए पानी की कमी नहीं रही। ज़मीन सख़्त हो गई। आसानी से इधर-उधर चल सकते थे। काफ़िर परेशानी में पड़ गये। चलते तो पांव फिसलता शुरूआत अच्छी थी, अंजाम ख़राब हुआ।
रात भर काफ़िरों ने जश्न मनाया, गाने सुने, शराब पी। समझते थे कि हमारे टिड्डी दल के आगे ये मुसलमान क्या टिकेंगे। ताक़त के नशे में चूर थे, अपने पैदा करनेवाले और मालिक को भुले हुए थे। दूसरी ओर अल्लाह के सच्चे पैग़म्बर ﷺ , अल्लाह के आगे सज्दे में थे। उसे पुकार रहे थे, “ऐ ज़िंदा व क़ायम ख़ुदा! ऐ ज़िंदा व क़ायम ख़ुदा!”
इसी हाल में सवेरा हो गया। आपने सारी रात अपने मालिक के दरबार में गिड़गिड़ाकर, दुआएं मांगकर आंखों में काट दी। सवेरा हुआ, साथियों को नमाज़ के लिए इकट्ठा किया, नमाज़ पढ़ी।
लोगों को अल्लाह की राह में जान देने की अहमियत बतायी। यह लड़ाई मुल्क और धन के लिए नहीं, ख़ानदान, क़बीले और अपनी बड़ाई जताने के लिए नहीं, यह लड़ाई हक़ के लिए है। हक़ के लिए जान देना मर्दो का काम है। हज़रत साद बिन मुआज अन्सारी ने एक ऊंची-सी छाया वाली जगह बना दी थी। यहां से आप पूरे मैदान को देख सकते थे। यहां से लड़ाई के बीच साथियों को हुक्म देते रहे। ऐसी ऊंची-सी जगह को अरबी ज़बान में 'अरीश' कहते है। जहा आजकल बद्र की मस्जिद बनी हुई है, उसी के क़रीब यह अरीश था।
अरब के जंगी क़ायदे के मुताबिक़ पहले एक-एक करके लड़ाई हुई, और फिर थोड़ी देर में एक फ़ौज दूसरी से गुथ गई। घमासान की लड़ाई शुरू हो गयी। 10 रमज़ान (13 मार्च सन् 625 ई.) सोमवार को सुबह ही लड़ाई शुरू हुई और दोपहर नहीं होने पाई कि कुरैश की पूरी सेना तितर-बितर हो गई। दुश्मनों के बड़े-बड़े सरदार मारे गये।
अबू जहल, ‘उतबा', शैबा सभी खेत रहे। लगभग सत्तर आदमी मारे गये, उतने ही बन्दी हुए। जो बच गये, वे सिर पर पांव रखकर भागे। मुड़कर न देखा कि साथी किस हाल में हैं। लड़ाई खत्म होने के बाद आपनी लाशों के दफ़्न करने का इन्तिज़ाम किया।
मुसलमानों की लाशें कम थीं। उन्हें रेत में दफ़्न कर दिया गया। दुश्मन बहुत मारे गये थे। उनकी लाशें एक गड्ढे में दबा दी गईं। लड़ाई में आपका यही क़ायदा था। मदीने पहुँचकर कैदियों को सब मुसलमानों पर बांट दिया गया। आपने हिदायत दी कि इनके साथ अच्छा बरताव करना। उस रात सब कैदी इकट्ठे ही थे, अभी बांटे नहीं गये थे। आपके चचा ‘अब्बास' भी कैदी होकर आये थे। उन्हें किसी ने बहुत कस कर बांधा था। बन्धन के दर्द से वे कराह रहे थे। उनकी आवाज़ सुनकर आपको नींद नहीं आई। रात गये तक जागते रहे।
किसी से पूछा तो बताया, “चचा कराह रहे हैं, उन्हें दर्द है।'' उन्होंने जाकर बन्धन ढीले कर दिये, आपने कहा, “तो सबकी गिरहें एक जैसी कर दो।' कैदियों में से अबू उर्जेर नाम का एक शख्स अन्सारी ख़ानदान के हिस्से मे पड़ा। वह अपना हाल कहता है, “उन लोगों को नबी के हुक्म का इतना ध्यान रहता था कि सवेरे का खाना हो या रात का, मुझे रोटी खिलाते और खुद खजूर खाते । रोटी का छोटा-सा टुकड़ा भी मिल जाता तो लेकर मेरे पास दौड़े आते। मैं हज़ार इन्कार करता, लेकिन वे न मानते।” इन कैदियों को बाद में बदले की रक़म लेकर छोड़ दिया गया। कुछ लोग यह रक़म अदा न कर सके थे। उनके लिए यह आसानी दे दी कि दस मुसलमानों को लिखना सीखा दें तो छोड़ दिए जायेंगे।
Battle of 'Badr'
It was only after Hijrat that the Quraysh started preparing to attack Medina. For this, provision of expenditure was necessary. The idea was to send a convoy 'Sham' for trading. In this all the people of Mecca should invest capital and whatever profit they get should be used in the fight.
When this convoy was returning from the evening, a false rumor spread that Muslims were coming to rob the convoy. At this the Quraysh got very nervous, got very angry, came out with a huge army, there were about a thousand in number. The one who could not go himself, he sent a man in his stead. Seven hundred footmen and riders, armed with cross-examination, wrought in iron, a hundred horses and seven hundred camels. It seemed that the storm had arrived. They were moving like a typhoon and a typhoon, the bandis and the singers were also with them. What were the songs, praising the infidels, arrogance and talk of growing up, the deen of Allah and the evil of the Muslims.
We were just on the way that the condition was found, "The convoy escaped, there was no attack, come back." But Abu Jahl was definitely a wicked one, when would he have believed. There was a deal in the head. Death was dancing on the head. Said, "Now we will not return. We will camp in Badr's field, have fun, sing and play, have food and drink, we will be stunned by all Arabs. What courage of Muslims who attack us? We have reached his head." Still some people went back, very angry at Abu Jahl, did not move forward.
You gathered the Muslims. You used to do everything with advice. By the way, the final decision rests with Allah and His Messenger. People gathered, you looked at the muhajirin. One of them said, "Do not delay in fulfilling the orders of Allah. We are with you. We will not respond like the Ummah of Hazrat Musa (alaihis salaam). Swear to that god! Who sent you as a prophet. Even if you go on fighting to the other end of the world, we will not leave you." Now you turned to Ansar. He had asked for help inside Medina. The matter was outside the settlement. Saad bin Mu'az Ansari got up. He said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Durood and salute to you, perhaps you are pointing towards us. We believe in the truths which you have brought. You know the truth. Not only this, but the truth of this deen. But there are also witnesses. It is our religious duty to follow your orders. Do whatever you want. We are with you, if you command us to jump into the sea, then we will not mind, not even one of our men will be left behind. We are not afraid to face the enemy. We are going to fight fiercely, our attack will not be false. May Allah show you the work from our side that cools your eyes. Allah's blessings are in your feet. Make an intention
You are very happy to hear this. Then he said, "Okay come on, Allah has covenanted with me. I am seeing with my own eyes the devastation of the infidels. The army of Quraysh came and stayed on the last bank in the field of 'Badr'. He took possession of the water. In the part where the Muslims were, there was such a condition that the feet used to sink in the sand. It was difficult to walk. By the grace of Allah the water rained down. What was it now, water has become water. People made pools. There was no shortage of water for wudu or for drinking. The ground hardened. Could walk around easily. Kafir got into trouble. The beginning was good, the end was bad.
Throughout the night the infidels celebrated, listened to songs, drank wine. They used to understand that what will these Muslims stand in front of our locust party. Drunk in power, they had forgotten their Creator and Master. On the other hand, the true Prophet of Allah, was in prostration before Allah. They were calling to him, "O God alive and permanent! O God alive and alive!"
At the same time it was morning. You spent the whole night pleading in your master's court, asking for blessings and biting him in the eyes. It was morning, gathered the companions for the prayer, read the prayer.
Told people the importance of giving life in the way of Allah. This fight is not for country and wealth, not for family, tribe and pride, this fight is for rights. It is the job of men to die for the right. Hazrat Saad bin Muaz Ansari had built a high shadow place. From here you could see the whole field. From here, in the middle of the fight, kept giving orders to the companions. Such a high place is called 'Arish' in Arabic language. This Arish was close to the place where Badr's Mosque stands today.
According to the military law of the Arabs, first the battle took place one by one, and then in a short time one army joined the other. The fighting started. The battle started early in the morning on 10 Ramzan (13 March 625 AD) and it was not late in the afternoon that the entire army of the Quraysh was dispersed. The great chieftains of the enemies were killed.
Abu Jahl, 'Utba', Shaiba were all fields. About seventy men were killed, the same number of prisoners. Those who survived ran away with their feet on their heads. Didn't look back to see what condition the friends were in. After the battle was over, you made arrangements for the burial of your corpses.
The corpses of Muslims were few. They were buried in the sand. Enemies were killed a lot. Their bodies were buried in a pit. This was your duty in the fight. After reaching Medina, the prisoners were distributed among all the Muslims. You instructed to behave well with them. That night all the prisoners were already assembled, they had not been distributed yet. Your uncle 'Abbas' had also come as a prisoner. Someone had tied them very tightly. They were moaning with the pain of bondage. You could not sleep after hearing his voice. Stayed awake till night went. When asked someone, he said, "Uncle is moaning, he is in pain." He went and loosened the ties, you said, "Then make everyone's knees the same." One of the prisoners named Abu Urzer fell in the part of the Ansari family. He says of his condition, “They used to pay so much attention to the orders of the prophet whether it was morning or night, they would feed me bread and eat dates themselves. If I could get even a small piece of bread, I would have run to take it. I would have denied a thousand, but they would not believe." These prisoners were later released with a vendetta. Some people could not pay this amount. It made it easy for them that if ten Muslims were taught to write, they would be released.
